More than 40 Samoan schools are set for a facelift thanks to a donation of 500 pails of paint.

The Children Educational Relief Foundation (CERF), a Utah non-profit organisation, donated American quality paints earlier this week.

Local Consultant for CERF Pauga Fata Talalelei Pauga said a total of 41 secondary and pre-schools including three in Savai'i were blessed with the donation. "These were mainly to primary schools in Samoa as part of a CERF project, that helps with the education of children around the world," he said.

Pauga said each school will receive around eight to 16 pails depending on the size of the school buildings and its needs.

He says the paint was donated to schools for the sole purpose of painting inside or outside of the buildings. CERF members are expected to visit these schools in February next year to review the impact the donation has had on the institutions.

The schools that received the donation are as follows:

  • Manunu Primary School
  • Saoluafata Secondary School
  • Samoa Primary School
  • Laulii Primary School
  • Nightingale of Wisdom-Preschool
