Scholarships and Sponsorship Opportunities

Recently, with the help of both the government of New Zealand and Australia, the Samoan government now provides tuition for students at the elementary level. However, families still have to provide tuition for student at the junior and high school levels.

In Samoa many families struggle to provide food for their families, let alone the cost of education. Students are seen working at home, on the plantations, fishing boats, or selling goods during school hours. Students whose parents can't afford the cost of education are left with little hope for their future and the cycle of poverty is perpetuated. The scholarships/sponsorships are designed to Create Opportunity for children who want to continue their education.

All children deserve the opportunity to be educated.

It costs an average of $150.00 USD to pay for a full year of tuition, fees, a uniform, and a student kit.

Scholarships

• Awarded in the name of CERF
• Students must apply each year to receive award
• Students are required to submit progress report for each term

Sponsorships

You are encouraged to make a commitment to the student for the duration of their primary and secondary school years. A notice will be sent to you annually asking for you to recommit.

• Awarded in your name.
• You will be notified of the name of the individual and the school they will be attending.
• Can specify who you would like to sponsor. Otherwise, student will be chosen from the list of scholarship applicants.
